The race begins at 10,000 feet above sea level on top of Gondola One as apart of the Vail Trail Running Series. Racers will be challenged as they run on the Grand Traverse and across the legendary back bowls. The average grade of the 10K is 7% with an elevation gain of nearly 1,200 feet, while the shorter 5K is a slightly less challenging and allows runners the chance to experience racing at an impressive altitude. Both courses provide incredible views of the Vail Valley, the Gore Range and the beauty of wildflowers in full bloom.
Gondola one will be open at 7:00 a.m. for participants to ride up to the start.
