Born in Avon in 2003, Synergy Center for Wellness has been healing, lengthening and toning Pilates practitioners of all ages and backgrounds. Today, the Pilates studio continues to ignite health and happiness for those who walk through its doors, now with a second chic studio in Eagle.
Jennifer Lucas, owner of both studios and celebrated local Pilates instructor, is overjoyed to expand her team’s talent down valley. Lucas and her gifted staff offer group and private sessions. Whether you choose to schedule an hour in a group setting or book your own time slot for a professional to personalize your workout, you are guaranteed core engagement, mobility, stretching and resistance training.
Private lessons offer personalized attention that allows for deeper exploration of injuries, chronic pain and individual fitness goals. They also provide a comfortable setting to ask detailed questions about the method, repertoire and equipment. While group classes offer community, energy and shared learning, private sessions focus entirely on your unique needs and progress.
“Pilates conditions the body in an anatomically functional way,” Lucas says. “The functional sound movements support you in daily and athletic activities inside or outside the studio. It is also important to be out in the world with correct posture and a strong core.”
Instructors incorporate props into each class. The inspiring and tidy space is adorned with five Balance Body Allegro Reformers, jump boards, magic circles, hand weights, Pilates balls, resistance bands, kettle bells, a later barrel, Pilates boxes and Pilates-specific mats. Equipment is incorporated into each class, ensuring no workout is the same. Some sessions have more strength components, while others are more flexibility focused. Lucas encourages clients to come into the studio and find which teachers they resonate with and feel what exercises work best for them.
The Synergy team has regular, congruent relationships with local physical therapists to fuel their knowledge and give clients the most purposeful workout possible. “There is a place where physical therapy ends and Pilates begins,” Lucas says. “Our instructors are educated in movement anatomy, physiology, athletic performance and pre- and post-natal.”
The intersection between stretch and strength is what makes Synergy compatible with so many bodies. Every Synergy instructor has at least 600 hours of comprehensive Pilates training. Each leader is heavily educated on multiple Pilates theories and takes pride in continuing their education. Many of the instructors you love in Avon have joined the Eagle studio. These brilliant minds include Emily Dornan, Adryen Goldstein, Deb Plath, Jayme Sare (substitute instructor), Anna Shepard and, of course, Lucas herself. Every single one of these individuals are passionate about guiding you towards your physical and mental health goals.
“We work in a methodical way to have a positive impact on your nervous system,” Lucas emphasizes.
Such as the Avon studio, you can reserve your spot in class on Synergy’s app called Synergy Center for Wellness, in the studio with a team member and online at synergyvail.com. The new space is open on 422 McIntire St., #3, Eagle, CO, beside Seagull’s Cycles and Pickup’s Pizza Company.
