Voices of the Valley

What does "Synergy" mean to you?

We asked three Vail Valley locals what Synergy means to them — here’s what they shared:

Kate SchifaniKate Schifani

Director of Mountain Operations, Vail Mountain

“Synergy is an integral part of how our community and our mountain function. Vail Mountain is such a big and special place, and the best way we share it with our community and our guests is through the collaboration of our operations team. Every day, my teammates work together to create an awesome day on the mountain — from making snow to laying down perfect corduroy to spinning the lifts that access terrain. I’m grateful to be a part of such a dynamic and fun team, who are united by a common passion for Vail Mountain.”

Michele LaVire

Founder of La Femme WellnessMichele LaVire

“Synergy is the heartbeat of my approach at La Femme Wellness. Synergy, to me, is collaborative inspired action to create something more expansive. I weave together cutting-edge science and ancient wisdom, physical therapies and soul-deep healing, creating a tapestry of transformation far more powerful than its individual threads. This alchemical blend — from Pilates to womb work, acupuncture to mentoring — ignites a profound metamorphosis in my clients. They emerge ‘luminous,’ stepping onto their highest timeline. It’s this synergistic dance that sets us apart, illuminating shadows and awakening the radiant, authentic self
that’s been waiting to shine.”

Executive Director at Vail Valley Mountain
Trails Alliance

“To me, synergy is a core component of one of my top values: community. The word synergy comes from the Greek words sun, meaning “together,” and ergon, meaning “work.” By working together as community members and neighbors, we can achieve results far beyond what any single person or organization could accomplish alone. But synergy doesn’t just happen, it takes time, effort and a willingness to look beyond yourself and towards a goal that supports the greater good. The Vail Valley community, at its core, shares many common values and goals. These shared foundations can be a launching point to bring us together, achieve synergy and care for this place we all call home.”
